August ’19 Update

August 14, 2019

Just a quick update on what’s happening in my world. I start rehearsals for La Bohème with Cleveland Opera Theater in about 5 days. I’m in the chorus, and I’m singing the comprimario role of the Sergente in Act III.

In November, I will take my second stab at the role of Banco in Verdi’s Macbeth, this time with Opera Western Reserve.

And in December, I return to Resonance Works | Pittsburgh in a familiar role. I will reprise the role of King Balthazar1 in Amahl and the Night Visitors, this time in a new production.

On the dreaded day job front, I’m studying for the IRS Enrolled Agent exams. It’s a three-exam process. I’ve passed Part One, which is about the taxes of people. Part Two is about the taxes of entities, like corporations, partnerships, and the like. Part Three is about ethics. Wish me luck.

And I guess that’s it for the update. I’ll continue to post stuff here as my outlook changes. Be well!

  1. I’ve performed this role, with this company, four times so far. The first three times, the cast stayed the same except for our Amahl and our Page. The fourth time, everything changed — except me. ↩︎
